Gijón, September 23 (EFE).- “Tierrina” shares the lead role with Víctor Manuel in the new symphonic tour organized by the singer-songwriter from Mieres for his 75th birthday, which brought him to the Teatro de la this Friday. Laboral in Gijón, the first of three consecutive concerts offered in the Principality, with a dedicated audience and tickets sold out for months.

The first of the three performances of “Víctor Manuel Sinfónico” that the artist offers in his region, followed by Saturday morning and ending on Sunday, has begun with the mythical “Asturias”, which many consider a production. the unofficial anthem of the autonomous community, followed by songs that exude the essence of their land, with references to shepherds, pumpkins, coal, La Santina or cities like Gijón, Laviana or their hometown of Mieres.

Accompanied by the Symphony Orchestra of the Principality of Asturias (OSPA) and the Choir of the Princess Foundation of Asturias, Mierense has delighted devoted audiences with his classic songs, including “I bring the red shirt”, “El grandpa Vítor” or “Dance of the Cuélebre”.

The Asturian singer-songwriter, who, as confirmed this week, has no plans to retire from the stage, will revive the songs from the “Vivir para sing it” concert tour and six more that he created in the following years on his tour. .

As in the case of “Living to tell the tale”, a live album will be recorded at the session tomorrow, Saturday, which the author hopes will “come out in one fell swoop and for the first time”.

The decision to do a concert like this in 1999 was made after Víctor Manuel’s sound engineer praised the quality of this recording, despite the limited rehearsals and resources.

“I have the impression that now I sing better than 30 years ago, experience has given me one thing or another, although, it’s true, age has taken others away from me,” the singer-songwriter from Mieres confirmed this week.
